The news agency of the Egyptian Football Association said today, Thursday, that for the first time in the history of Egyptian disagreements, a complete team is present in the list, which is: the Egyptian international, Amin Omar, as a referee, and two international assistants, Mahmoud Abu Al-Rijal and Ahmed Hossam Taha, and Mahmoud Ashour, as a referee on the video technology, as he can run the game.
The tournament is scheduled to begin on June 11 and continue until July 19, with the participation of 48 teams for the first time in the history of the World Cup, in an edition that sees an increase in the number of participating teams, compared to previous games.
Some of the Egyptian referees and supporters have participated separately in previous competitions, such as Ali Qandil, Essam Abdel Fattah, Gamal Al-Ghandour, and Jihad Greisha.
It is worth noting that the video technical referee, Mahmoud Ashour, who was chosen among the Egyptian team that will participate in the World Cup, is the same one who was in the VAR room in the final match between Al-Ahly and Ceramica in the Egyptian League, which saw the next big conflict.
During the match, Ashour called out the player, Mahmoud Wafa, thinking that Al-Ahly had awarded a penalty because the ball had touched the hand of the team’s player. Ceramica Cleopatra during the penalty shootout in the match between the two teams in the Egyptian Premier League, but Wafa decided not to count, which caused a referee problem in the Egyptian competition.
Al-Ahly issued a statement on Wednesday, requesting that the conversation between the on-field referee and the VAR referee be heard in the review of the match, as well as an investigation into the referee’s decision in the match.
Al-Ahly Club issued another statement on Thursday, where it confirmed that a public complaint was sent to the Management and Ethics Committee of the Egyptian Football Association, against Mahmoud Wafa, in order to protect the rights of his players Mohamed El-Shenawy, Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, and Hussein El-Shahat, who had positions with the referee during and after the match.
Al-Ahly also said in its complaint that the referee – in an example it described as dangerous – made inappropriate comments to the goalkeeper and the club’s director, Mohamed El-Shenawy, and insulted the player. Hussein Al-ShahatAlso, he pushed Mahmoud Hassan Trezeguet, along with insulting words to one of the leaders of the Egyptian national team and Al-Ahly club. The referee also showed yellow cards to goalkeeper Mustafa Schubert and referee Walid Salah El-Din, without rights, according to the statement.
Al-Ahly He made three requests in his complaint, the first was to suspend all the decisions he described as inconsistent with the club’s players, and the second to open an urgent investigation into what Al-Ahly described in his statement regarding Mohamed El-Shenawy, Mohamed Hassan Trezeguet, and Hussein El-Shahat.
The third request is the need to apply the disciplinary rules contained in Sections (18) and (20) of the Penal Code to the referee of the game against whom the complaint is made, as well as to impose legal sanctions.
For its part, the Youth and Sports Committee of the House of Representatives of Egypt issued a statement in which it showed its compliance with the dispute related to the dispute between Al-Ahly and Ceramica sports, emphasizing the need to respect the competent authorities and not interfere with their work.
