Iranians gather in Tehran after ceasefire announced

Thousands of people gathered in Tehran, waving flags and chanting slogans, after the United States and Iran announced a two-week conditional ceasefire.

Iran agreed to allow ships safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz if the United States halted its attacks.

The ceasefire comes more than a month after Israel and the United States launched attacks on Iran that led to Iranian strikes across the Gulf.

Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif mediated the negotiations and said the ceasefire was effective immediately.
