J.D. Vance arrives in Hungary to support Orban’s re-election campaign

Hungary is almost the only EU country to defy calls from Brussels to wean itself off its dependence on Russian fossil fuels. In Washington, Orban also pledged to buy more U.S. liquefied natural gas (LNG) as well as U.S. nuclear technology and fuel. Hungary relies heavily on Russian oil delivered through the Druzhba pipeline to the east, and Russian gas delivered via the Turkish Stream pipeline to the south.
