The AI-powered platform Picsart is launching a money making programthe company told TechCrunch exclusively. The program is open to all developers, with no subscription lists and no minimum audience requirement.

The program invites creators to create originals and Picsart materials for a specific campaign, share them on their social channels, and earn money based on their audience’s reactions. Picsart says the program is designed to reward creativity and performance, rather than focus on level or number of followers.

By launching a monetization program, Picsart is changing from a creative tool to a platform where creators can earn money. The company probably sees this move as a way to attract and retain developers.

When developers sign up for the program, they get access to a dashboard that shows all the progress and challenges they can take to get involved. For example, one campaign might ask creators to create visual creations using Picsart Aura, an AI platform assistant that can create and edit photos and videos using words or phrases.

Picsart argues that simply creating and posting AI images without effort will not bring any profit or benefit.

Once the content is created, creators fill out a short form with a link to the posted content while it’s live in the community, rank it according to the campaign’s requirements, and add a brief description of how they created it within Picsart. The content of the site is shared directly to the creator’s Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and X accounts.

Earnings are calculated based on views, comments, shares, and reach. Producers can track their earnings directly on their dashboard and withdraw the funds through Stripe.

The expansion of revenue streams for developers comes after several weeks Picsart announced that it is launching an AI assistant marketplace where developers can “hire” AI assistants for various tasks, such as resizing and re-editing content or changing product images on Shopify.
