Amy went on to blast the conservative culture the Duggar family grew up in, claiming they were taught not to express anger as problematic.
“Anger is wrong, you can’t express it, you have to keep it inside. Stay sweet, stay peaceful, don’t make waves,” she continued. “Oh, the thing that drives me the most crazy is that you have to forgive quickly, very, very quickly. Because God forbid, you need time to process what has just happened in the world, and the foundation of your life that you and your children have built is now completely destroyed and will never be the same again.
She added, “But in this environment, you’re not allowed time to think for yourself or even think for yourself. So when you’re angry, you can’t express it, so you have to smile, talk sweetly, and remember that your husband loves you no matter what.”

Amy said grace is encouraged within the Duggar family and she believes its use in all situations without question is unhealthy.
“My favorite term they always use is ‘grace.’ “We show them grace. We show men grace because sin happens and grace covers it,” Amy said. “Grace does bring repentance. Grace is a wonderful thing. But not in this case. This is not grace, this is suppression. This is how the cycle continues. “
Amy went on to say that she thinks Kendra is less likely to “deal with trauma” and more likely to “defend him, she’ll smile sweetly, she’ll talk to him very nicely, she’ll downplay the situation at hand.”
Amy explains that she believes the feeling of anger plays a vital role in situations that call for anger.
“The healthy response to being hurt and betrayed and having your heart broken is anger. Anger is part of it all. It’s not that way in this culture,” she said. “That excites me because instead what you’re going to see is the most perfect, sweet little angel wife who is there for him through thick and thin, and who does that remind you of? Joseph arrested in Arkansas On March 19, a 14-year-old girl accused Joseph of molesting her while on vacation in Panama City Beach, Florida, in 2020, when she was 9 years old. He was charged with lewd and lascivious conduct involving indecent liberties with a victim under the age of 12, and lewd and lascivious conduct with a person 18 years of age or older.
Joseph was extradited to Florida earlier this week, where he has pleaded not guilty. He was later released on $600,000 bail.
In addition to the molestation case, JJoseph and Kendra were both charged Including four counts of endangering the welfare of a minor and four counts of false imprisonment. The charges are not related to sexual harassment allegations.
