India begins to count more than 1 billion people participating in large-scale drills

The exercise will cover 36 states and Union Territories, more than 7,000 divisions, more than 9,700 towns and nearly 640,000 villages, with field surveys conducted by enumerators and supervisors, usually school teachers, government workers and local officials.
