YouTube CEO says top YouTubers ‘will never leave home’

YouTube CEO Neal Mohan recently insisted that he is not worried about Netflix and other streaming services attracting the creators of the service.

Mohan’s comments were timely a long-running interview with the New York Times series The Interview – which, as Mohan pointed out, is trending on YouTube. Indeed, he appeared to be the most successful in many discussions; when asked about Oscar-winning actor Conan O’Brien making fun of YouTube, Mohan simply replied that O’Brien is “very funny” and that his “Team Coco Channel is very successful on YouTube.”

About popular podcasts like “The Breakfast Club” and “My Favorite Murder” to NetflixMohan said it’s “exciting” that the contestants “see us as a cultural foundation.” But he said that when he talks to famous YouTubers, they tell him that “no matter what they seem to do, they understand that YouTube is their home.”

“I have never met YouTubers who have released content on YouTube,” Mohan said. He added that when YouTubers negotiate with other platforms, the advertisers always “accept what our YouTubers know is the right decision for them in the long run, which is to stay at home.”
