European Parliament conditionally approves EU-US trade deal

Lawmakers on Thursday moved to strengthen safeguards, including a provision to suspend the deal if the United States imposes additional tariffs of more than 15% or imposes new tariffs on EU goods. Another would halt the agreement if the United States threatens the EU’s territorial sovereignty.
