Google he announced Wednesday that it is releasing the Lyria 3 Pro, a music version, after a month Lyria 3 is to release. The new version will allow users to create tracks of up to three minutes, compared to the 30-second maximum offered by the Lyria 3 version.
The company said that, apart from allowing users to create long-distance tracks, the Lyria 3 Pro model will offer better control and customization. At a glance, users can also define various elements of music, such as intros, verses, choruses, and bridges, as the model understands its structure better than its predecessor.
Google also introduced the ability to create music Gemini software with Lyria 3 release. The Pro version is also starting in the Gemini app, but only paid subscribers can get access to it. The company is also offering Lyria 3 Pro for its own Google Vids video editing software and ProducerAI, a A music production tool developed by GenAI, which Google acquired last month.
In addition, Google is adding music production capabilities to its business tools with Vertex AI (for public viewing), Gemini API, and AI Studio through the Lyria 3 Pro version.
Google confirmed that it used peer-reviewed and official data from YouTube and Google to train this model. It added that the model does not imitate the artist. However, it said that if users profile an artist quickly, it takes “a lot of inspiration” from that artist to create music.
All songs created using Lyria 3 and Lyria 3 Pro have a SynthID which means that AI was used to create the song.
Earlier this week, Spotify released new tools to allow artists review songs released under their own name so that AI slop developers don’t destroy music by mistake. Meanwhile, Deezer launched tools to allow any streaming service to recognize AI-generated music.
