Josh Duhamel Reflecting on the impact of marrying his ex-wife, Fergieat the height of her fame.
“It was a huge transition[in my life]because she was a huge star at the time, so it was a big adjustment for me to be honest,” Duhamel, 53, revealed on the show on Monday, March 25. megyn kelly show. “But, you know, at the end of the day, Fergie is a very normal person. A great mom. We have a great relationship. She and my wife (Audra Marie) actually get along pretty well. “
Duhamel and Fergie (real name Stacey Ann Ferguson) tied the knot in 2009, the same year the 50-year-old Black Eyed Peas star hit No. 1 on the Billboard charts with “Boom Boom Pow” and “I Gotta Feeling.” They welcomed son Axl Jack in 2013 and ended their marriage in 2019. (Duhamel married his current wife, former Miss World USA winner Mary, in September 2022. They have a 2-year-old son, Shepherd Lawrence Duhamel, and a second child is on the way.)

“Yeah, probably,” Duhamel admitted. “It was probably my own ego more than anything. I don’t think it bothered her as much as it did me. But she was a huge star at the time!”
Duhamel admitted that she felt like she was “in[Fergie’s]shadow a lot of the time.” He added that he and Fergie have a “good relationship” as they now co-parent Axl.
“We raised our son Axl. She was a great mom,” Duhamel said. “I am now happily married to my wife Audra. We are expecting a beautiful son and a little girl.[Audra and Fergie]have a great relationship and that’s all I really care about.”
He continued, “I wanted to make sure that everyone stayed calm. I just wanted peace and I didn’t want any infighting between anybody. Thankfully, the way they handled it was very civil. … It could have been ugly, but thankfully it wasn’t.”
Fergie publicly congratulated her ex and Mari, 32, when they announced their marriage earlier this month expecting their second child.

While Duhamel rarely discussed his split from Fergie, he briefly discussed Resolve differences in his previous and current marriages Appeared on “The Skinny Confidential” podcast in March.
“Believe it or not, Fergie is also very healthy. Especially since she’s gotten away from all this,” Duhamel said. “She was a great mom. Thank God, very kind, very non-confrontational. We had a great relationship. She and Audra had a great relationship.”
The actor continued, “We’re just very different. Fergie and I, we just see the world differently. And that’s okay, you know. But I don’t regret it. We have a beautiful son. But (Fergie and Audra) are very different in so many ways. And, they’re both really great women. They really are.”
