South Africa’s police chief appears in court over Vusimuzi “Cat” Matlala deal

Jackie Selebi is the first police chief to be charged while in office. In 2010, the country’s longest-serving police chief was jailed for 15 years for accepting bribes from Italian drug lord Glen Agliotti in exchange for turning a blind eye to his criminal activities.
