The longer the war drags on, the narrower the U.S. and Iran’s options for ending it

It was reported on Saturday that Iran fired two missiles at a U.S. and British base on the Indian Ocean island of Diego Garcia, a distance of about 3,800 kilometers (2,300 miles). Although the missile did not reach the island, the incident raised new concerns about Iran’s capabilities. So far, its missile range is generally believed to be about 2,000 kilometers.
