Measure Thursday he announced that it is starting to roll out advanced AI systems to handle product compliance as it plans to cut back on third-party vendors. Law enforcement activities include the capture and elimination of activities related to terrorism, child exploitation, narcotics, fraud, and corruption.
The company says it will deploy the most advanced AI systems in its software after it consistently outperforms its existing optimization methods. At the same time, it will reduce its reliance on third-party vendors to deliver content.
“Although we will still have people reviewing the content, these systems will be able to perform tasks that are better suited to technology, such as the repeated repetition of images or areas where enemies are changing their behavior, such as drug trafficking or fraud,” Meta explained in a blog post.
Meta believes these AI systems can detect violations more accurately, better prevent fraud, respond more quickly to real-world situations, and reduce enforcement significantly.
The company says that initial testing of its AI system has been promising, as it can detect twice as many violations as adult sex offenders as its analysis teams, and reduce errors by 60%. It also states that these systems can identify and block mass viewing accounts of celebrities and other high-profile individuals, as well as help stop account takeovers by detecting signs such as new logins, password changes, or profile changes.
In addition, Meta claims that the system can detect and mitigate about 5,000 attempts per day, in which hackers try to trick people into giving out their personal information.
“Experts will design, train, manage, and evaluate our AI systems, measure performance and make critical decisions,” wrote Meta in a blog post. “For example, people will continue to be involved in our high-risk and critical decisions, such as account suspension complaints or forensic reports.”

This move comes as the Meta has become loosening its administrative rules in the past year, when President Donald Trump took office again. Last year, the company ended its third-party review program in favor of an X-like version of Community Notes. It also removed restrictions on “topics in mainstream media” and said users would be encouraged to take a “personal” approach to political content.
It also comes as Meta, and other Big Tech companies, are facing it several cases looking to hold social media giants accountable for harming children and young users.
Meta also announced on Thursday that it is launching a Meta AI assistant that will give users access to 24/7 support. Assistant is rolling out globally to the Facebook and Instagram apps for iOS and Android, as well as within the Help Center on Facebook and Instagram on desktop.
