influencer Danny Austin As she welcomes her husband, she’s breaking down why she wanted to give birth without medication Jordan RamirezThe fourth child.
“I gave birth to four kids and out of those four, two were not on medication and let me tell you why,” Austin shared in a video on Monday, March 16. Instagramwhile holding her newborn baby. “The first two times, I had the worst postpartum depression. … Sleeping 12 hours a night, the worst migraines, just lying in bed thinking about death. It was really dark and scary.”
Austin said she was “desperate” about her third pregnancy, which led to her Pursuing drug-free delivery.
“I had the best postpartum experience after my first unmedicated delivery,” she continued, noting that she had done nothing “to prepare” for either scenario. “I just decided that if I could endure it for 3-4 hours so I didn’t have to endure the pain for 3-4 months, I would do it. I think every time I do it, I feel empowered and then I feel like I have control over my postpartum life. So that’s why I did it a second time.”
Austin noted that she “went into panic mode” during the delivery and said she started “crying” because she was being triaged even though she thought she was “about to have this baby.” When she was examined, she was told she was “going to have this baby in 20 minutes.”
“My fourth unmedicated birth was worse than my third because it was shorter, but I was in severe pain for longer, if that makes sense. And I couldn’t see the end, so I panicked,” she explained, before saying that despite her experience, she wanted to encourage other moms to pursue unmedicated births.

Austin noted that “every birth is different and every mom can choose what works best for her,” but that she had “struggled with pretty severe postpartum depression” before.
“With my third birth, I was really desperate to try something different to help my postpartum experience. I chose not to take medication…my recovery and mental health are so much better. Like, better day and night 🙌,” she wrote. “So that’s why I decided to do it again this time. Was it easy now? Definitely not. But for me, the trade-off was worth it because my postpartum experience was so much smoother. Just sharing my personal experience! ♥️.”
