BBC visits Doha markets start to get crowded again two weeks after Iran war

Doha’s Souq Waqif market was nearly deserted when the conflict between Israel and the United States and Iran began on February 28, with people in the usually safe and stable capital alarmed by the attacks in the area.

Qatar’s neighbors are already feeling the impact of Tehran’s retaliatory attacks, At least 18 people have died in Gulf countries so far.

Meanwhile, most attacks on Qatar – some of which target U.S. military bases – have been intercepted by air defense systems, with minimal damage on the ground and no deaths reported in the country.

As the conflict in the Middle East enters its third week, Doha’s most famous market is starting to look busy again and the BBC’s Barbara Plett Usher visited there to ask how people are feeling.
