Facebook Marketplace is rolling out new Meta AI features, including one that automatically responds to messages from interested buyers, Facebook. he announced Thursday. Social media is also using AI to help sellers quickly list products and summarize their profiles and is giving sellers the ability to offer referrals to their lists.
The company says that since marketers receive more information about consumer inquiries, it makes it easier to respond to initial messages with automated responses powered by Meta AI. Now when buyers ask about an item’s availability, sellers can use Meta AI to automatically write answers using information from their listings, such as description, availability, location, and price. Sellers can enable, preview, and edit automated responses during listing creation.
The new feature is designed to solve the problem that sellers often don’t want to spend too much time answering basic or unnecessary messages, such as asking if an item is available when it’s already listed as available. One seller had it created their own AI tool last year to address these first questions from interested buyers.
Facebook Marketplace also allows sellers to list their products using Meta AI. After uploading an image of an item, Meta AI can create a list of items, fill in the details, and display a price based on similar items in the area.
Additionally, buyers will now see a summary of a seller’s Facebook profile at the top of their Marketplace page, including how long they’ve been on Facebook and how many friends they’ve visited. This summary also includes a summary of their activities on the Market, such as their history, the types of products they sell, and their seller ratings.
Marketers can now also increase their reach by offering referrals to their lists, Facebook says. And they can create prepaid labels and track every order from a simple dashboard.
New AI content integrates with Facebook Marketplace an existing integration of Meta AIincluding a tool that helps consumers ask the right questions while shopping, as well as AI knowledge of car inventory.
