Google brings Gemini in Chrome to India

Google announced on Wednesday that it is bringing the Gemini integration to Chrome to new regions, including India, Canada, and New Zealand. The release will allow Gemini users in Chrome through the sidebar on the desktop, enabling them to ask Google’s AI chatbot questions about what’s on the screen, get information from Gmail, Keep, Drive, and YouTube, and compare content.

As part of the new release, Gemini will also support languages ​​such as Hindi, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Telugu, and Tamil, in addition to English and Chrome. other languages ​​where he helped.

Google first launched Gemini in Chrome in the US via a floating window last September. The company introduced the Gemini sidebar tool earlier this year.

Users with access to this feature will see an “Ask Gemini” icon on the tab, which they can open on any tab and ask questions, summarize the content, or create questions to understand the topic. Google said Gemini can also work on tabs. This means you can specify multiple tabs to find the answer, which is useful when comparing things to buy or tickets to buy on a trip.

Gemini can also connect to various devices, access your personal information, and provide personalized feedback. It can be connected to Gmail, Maps, Calendar, YouTube, and other Google apps to get thematic responses, too. For example, you can write an email directly using Gemini in the sidebar on Chrome and send it to someone without leaving the window. You can also ask Gemini to summarize a YouTube video and write down the main points along with the timeline. The agent can also arrange meetings or explain your day.

Users can also use Google’s Nano Banana 2 AI-powered tool directly in Gemini for Chrome to edit images. For example, you can upload a photo of your room while shopping for furniture and ask the assistant to edit the photo to see how the item would look in the room.

The company said that, along with desktop, it is also rolling out Gemini support in Chrome for iOS in India. Once found, the option will appear in the address bar through the site’s toolbar.
