Just two days before the show, Gosling sent a sweet birthday wish to Mendes on the show. tonight show. To surprise her, he brought her on stage and had a military band come out to play “Happy Birthday.” The audience joined in and sang for her.
“Here’s the thing, you might find me in the Hudson River tomorrow,” Gosling joked of Mendes’ reaction to the surprise. While supporting Gosling, she wore a graphic T-shirt, a striped button-down top and blue jeans.
