Death Valley covered in wildflowers, biggest bloom since 2016

California’s Death Valley, the hottest place on Earth and the driest in North America, is currently carpeted with wildflowers that are shaping up to be their best blooming season in a decade.

The National Park Service (NPS) officially classified this year as an above-average blooming year on February 22, with low-elevation flowers blooming throughout the park.

It’s the most exciting event held in the region since 2016, with large swathes of desert transformed and covered in gold and purple vegetation.
