Anthropic’s Pentagon deal is a cautionary tale for startups chasing government contracts


The Pentagon has approvals chose Anthropic risk to supply the chain after the two failed to agree on how much control the military should have over its AI models, including the use of autonomous weapons and mass surveillance at home. When the $200 million Anthropic contract fell through, the DoD turned to OpenAI instead, which it accepted and watched. ChatGPT removes 295% traffic.
