Brooks and Krueger met while working on the show in 2010 blue mountain state. Brooks plays quarterback Alex in the comedy, while Kruger guest stars as Julie. The two began dating the same year.

In January 2022, the two expanded their family with the birth of daughter Gemma Wynter.
