Stripe wants to turn your AI investment into a profit center


Line Monday has released a preview of a new product which will help AI startups (and other companies) solve the problem of passing the cost of using AI to their customers.

Stripe’s vision, however, goes further than just passing the value of tokens. It allows startups to charge a higher number of usage tokens. So the company can, for example, charge only 30% more than the value of the tokens that the founders will pay the developer.

As Stripe explained, “Say you’re building an AI app: you want a 30% matching fee compared to the value of LLM tokens across all providers. Paying just drives the process.”

The premium feature allows developers to choose the types of AI they use. Tracks API prices for those brands. It then records the usage of the client’s tokens and spends the money for profit only.

Stripe has also launched its AI gateway, a tool that provides users with multiple options, allowing them to choose the best one for the job.
