Cursor reportedly exceeded $2B in annual revenue

The AI ​​Cursor code assistant is more than $2 billion in annual earnings, the metric is calculated by multiplying the most recent month’s earnings by 12, according to a Bloomberg source. The man says the four-year-old startup has seen its revenue increase over the past three months.

Launched in 2022, Cursor initially sold its products to private developers. Over the past year, however, it has focused on returning buyers to large companies, which now account for about 60% of revenue, according to Bloomberg.

While some individual manufacturers and small startups have change from Cursor in Claude Code, which seems to be more expensive, this decrease is seen in customers who spend a lot of money and tend to stay longer.

Beyond Claude Code, OpenAI’s Codex writing tool is also competing in the fast-growing market for AI-powered software development. Other startups on the site include Replit, Cognition, and Lovable.

The pointer was the last value $29.3 billion when it raised $2.3 billion in funding led by Accel and Coatue in November.
