Grossglockner manslaughter case sends shockwaves through climbing community


Matt Cooper, a member of the Welsh Mountain Rescue Team and founder of the climbing company, said most accidents that occur while climbing are due to “poor planning”. He said this included not having the right clothing and equipment, such as crampons and ice axes, not checking and fully understanding the weather forecast, such as excessive wind speeds, and not navigating correctly.
