tom hanks‘ son Chet Hanks Facing more than a few abandon joked after revealing he was stuck in Colombia without a U.S. passport.

“Sounds good, right? Well, look at this,” he quipped before revealing his nightmarish travel story.
According to Chet, he had been “traveling with my Greek passport because I’m a dual citizen” and decided to leave his U.S. passport at home because it was about to expire.
“Sometimes they won’t let you into the country even if it hasn’t expired yet but it’s about to expire,” Chet claimed.
Chet was clearly having a crazy time in Medellin, but when he showed up at the airport to fly home, the stress of the trip took hold.
“I went to the airport three hours early to check in,” he said. “This was an international flight. They told me that if I used a foreign passport, I would need a green card to return to the United States.”
The problem with the airport staff’s request was that Chet didn’t have a green card because he was a “U.S. citizen.”
“I’m really stuck in Colombia. I’m stuck in Medellin,” he admitted to the audience. “Of course there are worse places to be stuck, but I really didn’t know what I was going to do, and the only embassy that could sort it out was in Bogota.”

US Weekly Chet’s representatives have been contacted for comment.
Chet didn’t seem too stressed about his travel situation, as he later shared a number of videos and photos of himself Party with friends.

One Instagram user joked, “Better call your family and ask them to send you your passport ASAP.” Another user added, “Tom Hanks doesn’t have much luck with FedEx.”
One commenter subtly referenced Tom’s other movie, suggesting the Oscar winner might be “waiting at Terminal” for Chet. (2004 comedy Terminal Starring Tom, 69, as an Eastern European traveler stranded at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York City. )
