“actually River’s performance was terrible.. It was not a pleasant experience,” she recalls. “I went into labor naturally and only a week early, which is common. That’s not a problem, everything is fine. It’s just kind of bad when you really want to push the kid out. He’s really stressed out and he can’t calm down normally like (babies) do. “
Brownlee continued, “A lot of different doctors and surgeons (came to my room), and it was terrifying. I was like, ‘What’s going on?’ They said, ‘We thought we were going to A caesarean section is necessary Because the baby becomes very distressed. I was so scared that they were going to put me to sleep because that’s one of my biggest fears because I didn’t think I was going to wake up. “
According to Brownlee, her emergency C-section was “one of the scariest moments” of her life.
“I’d never been in the hospital for anything in my life, so I was lying in a room full of people,” the YouTube star explained. “I had this curtain in front of me because they didn’t want you to see it, and I was numb. I got an epidural, which numbs you from the waist down, because I couldn’t stand the pain.”
River ultimately gave birth safely, which was a completely different experience than Brownlee and Athena’s birth.
“Because I had a C-section, they were like, ‘We’re going to book you in for another one,'” she said of giving birth to her second child. “That’s what they like to do, but the midwife said, ‘No, we think you can have her naturally, so at least give it a try.'” I did, and it went really fast. …I’m so proud of myself and I’m so happy to have had a natural birth and I would choose it over a C-section every time. “
