Big languages have a problem: they are big. Multiverse Computingthe Spanish founder, tackles this issue with compressed models that seek to close the gap between what limit models can do and what companies can afford to install.
The secret sauce is CompactifAI, an integration technology inspired by quantum computing owned by a Basque company. used for models released by OpenAI. As of today, developers can get the latest version of Multiverse’s HyperNova 60B for free at Hugging Face. The company also plans to open more integrated sources in 2026 to support more use cases.
According to Multiverse, the models are small, but almost powerful and accurate. At 32GB, the HyperNova 60B is about half the size of its predecessor – OpenAI’s gpt-oss-120B – while boasting lower memory usage and lower latency. Modified version, called HyperNova 60B 2602it now also better supports device calling and codec agents, where the conceptual cost can be high.
One of the competitors Multiverse claims to have been beaten by the HyperNova 60B is Great Mistral 3one of the examples released is French decacorn Mistral AI. But beyond the technological competition, the two European AI companies also have something in common.
Like Mistral, Multiverse has expanded beyond their country, with offices in the United States, Canada, and throughout Europe. Both companies also have business customers. In the case of Multiverse, it mentions Iberdrola, Bosch, and Bank of Canada.
And while the Multiverse may not be a unicorn yet, it is here Rumors to raise new funds of € 500 million at a cost of over €1.5 billion. In a statement shared with TechCrunch, the company confirmed that active discussions with potential investors for new funding are ongoing, but added that it is not time to comment on valuations or funding growth at this time. Multiverse also declined to comment on reports that its annual revenue (ARR) reached 100 million in January.
If confirmed, this would be only a small part OpenAI’s $20 billion ARR; but not far from the Mistral’s, whose ARR it rose to $400 milliondue to increased demand for US technology alternatives. Similarly, Multiverse titles itself in his latest speech as a company that can “provide solutions for the AI community.”
