The day Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor was arrested on Thursday morning at the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk on what would have been his 66th birthday.

Thames Valley Police said the former prince was taken to a police station in Aylsham on suspicion of misconduct in public office and was later released under investigation.

King Charles III said in a statement that “the law must follow the law.”

The king and queen were seen carrying out their royal duties as normal.

Andrew’s arrest comes after Thames Valley Police said they were assessing complaints that the former prince allegedly shared confidential material with late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

Andrew has previously denied any wrongdoing with Epstein; he has not yet responded to a request from the BBC for comment on specific allegations related to the January release of millions of Epstein documents.
