Team USA has the full support of the Gaudreau family during the competition 2026 Winter Olympics.

Meredith also shared a sweet photo of her three-year-old daughter Noah, wearing Team USA gear and holding an American flag before a game in Milan, Italy. (In addition to Noah, Meredith and Johnny have two children, Johnny, 2, and Carter, 10 months.)

“The Columbus Blue Jackets organization is shocked and devastated by this unimaginable tragedy,” the Ohio State hockey team said in a statement at the time. “Johnny was not only a great hockey player, but more importantly a loving father, son, brother and friend.”
“Our heartfelt sympathies go out to his wife Meredith, his children Noah and Johnny, his parents, their family and friends on the sudden passing of Johnny and Matthew,” the statement concluded.

In a follow-up tribute, Meredith called Johnny “the absolute best dad in the world.”
“(He is) incredibly thoughtful and loving. The perfect partner to parent with,” she wrote in a post uploaded to social media. “John never missed a (doctor) appointment. He was the best at putting babies to sleep and the apple of Noah’s eye. I love the way she and he look. We will make you proud. We love you so, so, so much, Dad.”
As much as Johnny Gaudreau loved the game of hockey, his family always came first. Away from the ice, the NHL player enjoys spending time with his wife, Meredith, and two children, Noa and Johnny. Meredith announced at the funeral of Johnny and her brother-in-law Matthew in September 2024 She was pregnant with baby number three. In April 2025, she gave birth to her son Carter.
