‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star Kate Walsh breaks silence on Eric Dean’s death

Post via her Instagram On Friday, February 20, Walsh paid tribute to her co-star He died on Thursday at the age of 53 After battling ALS.

Walsh, 58, stars in a series featuring Dane, herself and Compatriots Gray’s Cast and crew.

The actress first expressed her condolences to Dane’s daughters Billie, 15, and Georgia, 14, as well as the mother of his children, Rebecca Gayhart.

“First and foremost, my thoughts and prayers are with his daughters and Rebecca,” Walsh wrote.

Walsh plays Dr. Addison Montgomery in the medical drama. Her character’s romance with Dane’s Dr. Mark “McSteam” Sloan was a major plot point in the show’s early seasons.

In her tribute post, Walsh reflected on memories of filming with Dane while praising Dane’s real-life personality.

“I actually remember my first scene with Eric…the elevator scene in Seattle Grey😊 So, it was a long time ago. I believe it was his first scene on the show too and he was so nervous. He was so handsome and I thought ‘but can this guy act?’ 😂 Of course he can and did it and the rest is history,” Walsh wrote.

She continued, “One of the things I loved about Eric was his sensitivity and vulnerability (and wisdom, of course), but he had a gravitas and an old soul that made his work attractive and made him a great friend in those early days. Gray’s, As with most network television shows, we spent more time with each other than anyone else, so we became a family and Eric was our source of support and love. “

Walsh ended her post by urging her followers to help organizations trying to find a cure for this debilitating disease.

“ALS is a terrible disease that too many people have lost loved ones to. I know Eric’s mission was to help find a cure. I encourage you to research @targetals in his memory. 🕊️,” she wrote.

Dane’s family confirmed in a statement Thursday, Euphoria star died after battling ALS.

“He spent his final days surrounded by his dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world,” the statement read. “Throughout his treatment of ALS, Eric became a passionate advocate for awareness and research, determined to make a difference for others facing the same battle. He will always be deeply missed and missed.”

The statement concluded: “Eric adores his fans and is forever grateful for the outpouring of love and support he has received. The family asks for privacy as they work through this difficult time.”

Dane appears in Grey’s Anatomy From 2006 to 2012, he will make a surprise return in 2021.
