Anthropic has released a new version of its mid-range Sonnet, which has been undergoing a four-month industry revolution. In the post announcing the new modelAnthropic emphasized codec change, compliance, and computerization.

Sonnet 4.6 will be the default model for users of the Free and Pro plans.

The beta release of Sonnet 4.6 will include a display window of 1 million symbols, twice the size of the previous Sonnet window. Anthropic described the new window as “enough to contain entire codebases, long contracts, or multiple research documents in a single request.”

The release comes in just two weeks installation of Opus 4.6with an updated version of the Haiku to follow in the coming weeks.

The launch comes with new benchmarks, including OS World for desktop use and SWE-Bench for software engineering.
