Tim WileyThe drummer of indie band Manchester Orchestra has died aged 42.
His bandmates announced the news via the Manchester Symphony Orchestra Instagram Account on Sunday, February 15th. “The sudden passing of our brother Timothy Very has devastated the entire Manchester Symphony Orchestra family,” the post read. “The sweetest of us had the privilege of knowing him in this life. We have been afraid to share this news because we are still in absolute disbelief.”
The cause of death has not been disclosed.
The post also reads: “Tim is instantly likeable, interacting with everyone he meets with kindness and warmth. His laugh is contagious, and he instantly makes people feel invited and encouraged. His humor and energy are what hold the entire MO universe together. Strangers quickly become friends, and friends become family.”
The post included a photo of Very, taken from behind during the rock band’s performance in Atlanta, Georgia. In the photo, Willie raises his arms in triumph as a crowd of fans look on.
“He had an undeniable radiance that was matched only by his dedication and love for the craft he was clearly on this earth to do,” the post continued. “No words can do him justice. Please know that if you loved Tim, he loved you too.”
The post also noted that Willy is a father. “The only thing Tim loves more than making music is spending time with his family. You will be forced to find a happier father,” it reads. “We love you, Tim, and thank you for loving us. You are a positive force that will continue to be with us for the rest of our days.”
Other musicians expressed their condolences in the comments section of the post, including Riley Breckinridge From California rock band Thrice. “Heartbreaking. He was a light, a force of joy and positivity, and so talented. He truly was one of a kind. Love you all. I’m so sorry,” he wrote.
