Hollywood is not happy with the new Seedance 2.0 video generator

Hollywood agencies are pushing back against a new type of movie called AI Seedance 2.0which he says has become a tool to crack down on the “evil” of copyright.

Similar to tools like OpenAI and SoraSeedance allows users to create videos (which are currently limited to 15 seconds in length) by simply typing a quick voice. And like Sora, Seedance was quick to criticize the lack of security around the ability to make movies using real people’s characters, and the studio’s intelligence.

After X one user posted a short video shows Tom Cruise fighting Brad Pitt, which he said was created by “2 line prompt in seedance 2,” “Deadpool” screenwriter. Rhett Reese replied“I don’t like to say that, and maybe it’s over for us.”

Soon the Motion Picture Association released it words from CEO Charles Rivkin demands that ByteDance “immediately cease its illegal activities.”

“In one day, the Chinese AI team Seedance 2.0 has been illegally using US security services on a large scale,” Rivkin said. “By launching a service that operates without copyright infringement, ByteDance is ignoring well-established copyright law that protects creators’ rights and supports millions of American jobs.”

The Human Artistry Campaign – a campaign supported by Hollywood organizations and business groups – criticized Seedance 2.0 as “an attack on every creator in the world,” right the theater union SAG-AFTRA said “stands with the studio in condemning the abusive infringement caused by Bytedance AI’s new Seedance 2.0 video.”

Seedance’s films appear to feature Disney characters such as Spider-Man, Darth Vader, and Grogu, aka Baby Yoda, prompting the company to take action. Axios reports that Disney has sent a cease-and-desist letter accuses ByteDance of “infringement-and-infringement of Disney’s IP” and that the Chinese company is “plagiarizing Disney’s characters by reproducing, distributing, and producing documentaries featuring these characters.”

Disney isn’t opposed to working with AI companies — it’s saying that sent a cancellation letter to Google on similar issues, it has signed a three-year contract with OpenAI.

Various reports that Paramount followed suit by sending a cease-and-desist letter to Bytedance on Saturday. The letter stated that “many of the Seed Platforms’ productions contain graphic images of Paramount celebrities and celebrities” and that they are “often unrecognizable, visually and aurally” from Paramount’s films and television series.
