Jennifer Iacopelli Only one book published find her strengths Netflix adapted the previous series (a second season is in production) so did the show change the author’s plans for the novel’s ending?
“When I wrote my first book, I was at a place in my publishing career where I didn’t think I could continue the story — or maybe any story,” Iacopelli told EXCLUSIVELY us weekly. “So I sat down and I thought, ‘I need to write an ending here[for Finding Her Edge]because I don’t think I can ever go back to this.”
In 2022, when the book is published, Iacopelli wrote an ending It “felt right” for what she “wanted to do at the time.”
“Now I might have an opportunity to expand on that. So at this stage, I already have an outline for the second book and an idea of what (things) might be beyond the second book,” she joked. “So will the ending remain exactly the same? No. We’ll see (but) everything is on the table.”
find her strengths It’s a youthful romance About a figure skater named Adriana (Madeleine Case) whose family legacy and rink are in jeopardy. She must pretend to be in a fake relationship with her new partner Brayden (ambrosic road) seeking sponsorship while still trying to express his feelings for his old partner Freddie (Ollie Atkins).
The show aired on Netflix earlier this year, and fans quickly found themselves divided between Freddy and Brayden. While in Iacopelli’s novel and season one, Adriana (spoiler alert!) ended up with Freddy, now that the series is returning for more, the options are endless.

Meanwhile, Iacopelli Readers are encouraged to continue Be open-minded about the endings for the characters in the book. while speaking usIacopelli revealed that watching Finding Her Edge was adapted into a TV series would change her mind about the ending of her story and who Adriana would choose to be with in the future.
“Oddly enough, it was more confirmation of what I wanted to do than change it. It was more like, ‘Oh, my gut feeling was right,'” she noted. “It’s weird because that’s my creative instinct. But then I saw a slightly different version of it from screenwriters Shelley Scaro, Jacqueline Pepper, Sabrina Shariff and Jeff Norton. I respect those people as a writer because I’m focusing on a potential second book.”
Iacopelli pointed out that characters Still have a lot of experiences to experience. For now, Iacopelli is excited to watch how the Netflix version of her story comes to life.
“I love that they fleshed out some characters that I didn’t have time to flesh out in the book. They did a great job. I understand that the adaptation process can be very grueling and difficult for a lot of authors,” she told us. “I’ve had a great experience, and I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that they’re Canadian. It’s been a huge benefit to have the best people in the industry working with my products.”
