A Texas man has been sentenced to life in prison after authorities said he continued to sexually abuse a child he allegedly abused before while in prison awaiting a murder trial.

Taylor is accused of abusing a minor victim from age 14 until she was 16, according to prosecutors.
“In 2020, after being paroled from Oklahoma on drug trafficking charges, Taylor reconnected with the victim’s family and was able to meet the children,” the District Attorney’s Office said.
He allegedly abused her in multiple states and cities in Texas, according to prosecutors.
In October 2022, Taylor, described as “a career criminal and confirmed gang member,” was arrested on murder charges in connection with a murder in Oklahoma City, the district attorney’s office said.
Before the murder trial, Taylor made multiple phone calls to girls he had previously abused in prison, according to prosecutors.
The district attorney’s office said the calls were recorded.
Taylor told the girl on the phone to “engage in lewd conduct while the child was living in Collin County, resulting in the sexual conduct charges,” according to the District Attorney’s Office.
The girl spoke publicly about the abuse in December 2022, two years before Taylor eventually pleaded guilty to murder in December 2024 and was sentenced to 10 years in prison, the district attorney’s office said.
She “bravely” went public about the abuse, which led her family to call the Frisco Police Department.

The child detailed the abuse she suffered from Taylor, including over the phone, during an interview at the Collin County Children’s Advocacy Center, according to the District Attorney’s Office.

According to prosecutors and court records reviewed by Us, a Collin County jury ultimately convicted Taylor of sexual conduct with a child in a trial that began on January 20.
The district attorney’s office said Taylor faces a sentence of five to 99 years in prison or life in prison.

The jury found a life sentence was appropriate, according to prosecutors.
“This convicted murderer continued to assault a child even in prison,” D.A. Greg Willis said in a statement. “The Collin County jury saw the full picture and delivered the only verdict that protects the public and our children – life in prison.”
Court records show Taylor has appealed the case.
