Ryan Beiermeister, who was OpenAI’s vice president of marketing, was fired in January after a male colleague accused him of discrimination, according to the Wall Street Journal. he said.
“Allegations that I’m racist are false,” Beiermeister told the Journal. TechCrunch reached out to OpenAI for comment and contacted an email that appears to be related to Beiermeister; no one responded at the time of publication.
According to the Journal’s report, Beiermeister’s dismissal came after he criticized the proposed ChatGPT program for what he called “major practices.” This new method can bring erotica into chatbot usage. Fidji Simo, who works as OpenAI’s CEO of Applications – responsible for managing the company’s consumer-facing products – he said media that the new unit is planned to be launched in the first quarter of this year.
Beiermeister and others at the company have expressed concerns about how the new “supervisors” could affect some users, according to the report.
OpenAI reportedly said that Beiermeister, who was fired after his departure, “provided invaluable support during his time at OpenAI, and his departure was not related to any problems he caused while working for the company.”
