Prewett continued, “My life was like, ‘I’m saving myself for marriage, I have my virginity certificate, I’m following God.'” On the outside, everything was fine, but behind closed doors, I was living a double life, living a constant stream of secret sin, secret sexual sin, without admitting it to anyone, which only led to more sin and more shame, and it felt like this never-ending cycle that I didn’t know how to get out of. “
former Bachelor The contestant explained that this continued throughout high school, but she eventually “fessed up to it” in college.
“I was finally able to escape this addiction and cycle,” she said. “I think a lot of times we think about our sins, and if we admit our sins or if we end up telling people about it, they’re going to judge us, people are going to think we’re gross, they’re going to think we’re a bad Christian, and if we say that, maybe they won’t want to be my friend anymore.”

But the Lord’s kingdom is light, and I’m going to bring it into the light. I’ve got to bring this to light. I’ve got to tell people.'”
She continued, “You’ll notice that most of the time when you share that secret sin or that shameful thing — maybe you didn’t do it at all, maybe it was done to you and it’s been holding you back for a long time — and you finally confess it to someone, you know whether it was a porn addiction or a depravity “I think a lot of times it equates to sex – not always, but a lot of the time – and you feel this relief, you feel this freedom that even today, when the shameful moment comes up again, you immediately admit it and share it with your friends.”
Prewett has previously spoken publicly about her Fighting Porn and Masturbationadmitted “it’s been a struggle for her” since middle school.
“Thankfully, by the grace of God and the strength of a godly community and the people around me, I’ve been – I didn’t even know it – 10 years free from porn and masturbation,” she said in a June 2025 episode of the Keeping It Real podcast. “But that’s something that enslaved me and marked me for a long time.”
