Three women are accused of torturing a 6-year-old girl in their North Carolina home for more than a year until her death in December, when the girl weighed just 27 pounds, according to police.

“The most severe injuries were defects to her genitals and buttocks,” the detective wrote in the affidavit.
When forensic investigators interviewed other children in the house, they told them that Tonya forced Dominique to live in “a small enclosure inside the house” and that she was “frequently bound with black tape and whipped with a white belt,” the affidavit states.
“They further suggested that when Dominique was found not breathing, she was placed in front of the kitchen stove to warm her up and revive her,” the document continues. In the deposition, detectives described the three-bedroom home as “very untidy, with a strong smell of feces and urine” and multiple rats “running around inside.”
“The residence was littered with a mixture of animal and human feces,” the affidavit states.
According to police, evidence obtained from interviews with Tonya, Susan and Teren, as well as from their cellphones, showed they were all involved in the torture of Dominic.
The evidence established “duct tape, dog crates, beatings and rat activity in Dominic Moody’s life over many years,” the affidavit said.
