Resolve AI, a start-up that uses machine reliability analysis (SRE), known as system failure, has announced a Series A round of $125 million per $1 billion to calculate.
The round was led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from existing investors including Greylock Partners, Unusual Ventures, Artisanal Ventures, and A*.
The announcement confirms TechCrunch’s December report that startup was rising to a billion-dollar valuation led by Lightspeed.
Sources told TechCrunch at the time that the round could consist of multiple shares, at different prices, which would put the combined value of the company below $1 billion. A spokesman for Resolve denied that there were multiple shares at the time, saying that 100% of the money was purchased at a price of $1 billion.
As we said before, this type of structure allows other investors, who are usually the lead, to buy a large part of the product at a low price.
Resolve was founded in early 2024 by two former Splunk executives, Spiros Xanthos and Mayank Agarwal. Their first startup, Omnition, was acquired by Splunk in 2019.
Another startup using AI to detect and resolve system outages is Sequoia-backed Traversal. The emerging group is known as AI SRE.
