“I didn’t know what to write, so I just put the facts down here. I have cancer,” Ross, 50, via Instagram Monday, February 2, along with a hospital selfie. “It’s not localized. It’s already in my colon, lungs and abdomen.”
She continued, “This space has brought me so many wonderful things, community, friendship, opportunity, creativity, fun. I’m here to humbly ask for one thing: join me in this fight, for as long as possible.”
Ross, whose Instagram account “Dressing Dawn” had more than 65,000 followers at the time of posting, was flooded with messages of support in the comments section.

Rose was stunned by the number of heartfelt messages of support she received.
“I don’t have the words right now to respond to the outpouring of support from the post I’ve shared,” Rose said in a video shared via her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, February 3. “That’s not what I wanted to post at all. I have a whole story about how I ended up going to the ER and then they did a CT (scan) and they found these things that were completely unexpected.”
According to Ross, she was Currently awaiting results from her most recent biopsy.
“They biopsied my liver, they biopsied part of my colon, (and) they would send it to oncology and assign me a care team,” she explained. “(Then) I’ll know what the next steps are, but I just want to say how grateful I am for all of you for your support.”
While she awaits the next step in her treatment plan, Rose revealed in a subsequent Instagram Stories slideshow that she also plans to order a set of comfy printed pajamas to “kick cancer into your wardrobe.”

“Thank you! As 2025 ends, I must express my gratitude to this community,” she wrote in a December 2025 letter Instagram postal. “It’s never just the clothes. It’s never just the style. Connection, support, learning (and) growth, that’s what it’s all about.”
She added at the time, “I know I’ve been a little slow on sharing lately as I figure out my mental health and medical pathways, but even there, the genuine care I received here was so meaningful. Thank you for all the time you spent with me in 2025.”
That same year, Rose also celebrated her milestone 50th birthday.
She said on social media in January 2025: “Normally, birthday eves make me feel reflective, and half a century feels like a milestone.” video. “Now, I’m embracing it because right now, I’m my most solid self. I’m more authentic than I’ve ever been. I’m more grounded, I’m more compassionate (and) I have a better understanding of what I need and value from others and am no longer afraid to ask for things and set boundaries. I’m being intentional about my time, my space, my comfort level.”
