YC founders can now receive money in stablecoins

All founders who are accepted to YC will soon have the opportunity to receive their seed checks through stablecoins, crypto YC partner Nemil Dalal he told The Block.

The famous YC “Standard Deal” is that it invests $500,000 in startups who are accepted into its program in exchange for 7% of their company. Now this partnership is hitting the blockchain (Base, Solana, and Ethereum, to be exact), starting with the upcoming team.

Dalal said that stablecoin transfers are often beneficial, especially for startups operating in emerging markets. Also, YC is putting its money where its mouth is, so to speak. Last fall, YC associated with Base and Coinbase Ventures encourage startups to create more blockchain– related companies.
