Introducing self-driving cars Waabi’s Billion-Dollar Fundraise it’s not just about cars.

The deal, worth $750 million upfront and $250 million from Uber tied to major projects, marks the massive expansion of robotaxis for the company founded by former Uber AI CEO Raquel Urtasun. It also feels like another chip from Uber in the independent game table. With more than 20 AV partners around the world, the question is not whether Waabi can achieve its goals of deploying more than 25,000 robotaxis, but whether Uber’s strategy of betting on everything works.
