Elon Musk’s three companies – SpaceX, xAI, and Tesla – are playing for a merger. Although the talks appear to be in their early stages, according to reports from Bloomberg and Reuters, it could result in one company owning SpaceX.
Two events are being run. In one, SpaceX and Tesla could merge, on Bloombergby naming people who have not been named. Among other things, SpaceX and aXI (which already owns Musk’s social media platform X) could be merged.
According to Reuters reportsThe partnership between SpaceX and xAI could happen ahead of the SpaceX IPO planned for this year. This would bring things like Grok chatbot, X platform, Starlink satellites, and SpaceX rockets together under one organization.
Company representatives from SpaceX and xAI have not discussed this publicly. However, recent documents show that two new entities were established in Nevada on January 21, which are called K2 Merger Sub Inc. and K2 Merger Sub 2 LLC. This suggests that Musk is keeping all options.
There are extras for all of these events. Combining the companies SpaceX and xAI could allow xAI to put its own data centers in space, something Musk said he has said that he wants to. The SpaceX-Tesla tie-up could combine the EV manufacturer’s energy storage business with data centers in a space concept.
And both options – and the combination of all three companies – are consistent with Musk’s comments and recent moves to merge, or share assets between them. Last year, SpaceX agreed to invest $2 billion in xAI, according to The Wall Street Journaland earlier this week, Tesla (also led by Musk) revealed, too, invested $2 billion at the beginning of AI.
Last year, xAI he bought X in the agreement Musk said the value of xAI is $ 80 billion and X at $ 33 billion. SpaceX, which has been around since 2002, is said to have launched a second sale which made it worth $800 billion, making it the most valuable private equity firm in the US
