The police report states that when law enforcement approached Chase, they “smelled the odor of alcohol and observed that he had bloodshot eyes, glassy eyes, and slurred speech.” Chase “admitted to drinking at the bar and using cocaine before driving.”

Chase said he wanted to take control of the situation, adding, “I got pulled over for DUI, ingested something I shouldn’t have, and then got behind the wheel. It was an extremely short-sighted, selfish and dangerous decision. I want to give a shout-out to the police for helping people stay safe on the road because this could have been a lot worse than it actually was.”
Reflecting on the incident, Chase admitted he should have made different choices.
“I should have Ubered, but for some reason I decided to drive home, and that decision alone kills people every day,” he said. “I understand the seriousness of it. Obviously, it’s a humiliating, low-level act to be pulled over and taken in. To me, it looks bad.”

“Unfortunately, I have let (Miranda) down multiple times during the time she has known me, both as a partner and now as a co-parent,” he continued. “So, this is bad.”

“I deeply regret the decision I made, how it looked and everyone who was on the road that day because obviously that’s how people lost their lives,” he said. “I’m very sorry about it all and everyone around me is very disappointed because of this choice and I’m dealing with the consequences of that and, you know, anything that happened legally. So, I’m sorry and I want you to hear from me that this did happen and it won’t happen again. I’m sorry.”
