Last year, Deezer launched An AI detection tool which automatically assigns AI-generated music to listeners and removes it from algorithmic thinking and editors.
The company announced on Thursday that it is now making the tool available to other streaming platforms to help combat the rise of AI and fraudulent streams, as well as to boost the visibility of the music industry and ensure that human artists still get the recognition they deserve.
Along with the move, Deezer also reported that 85% of streams from AI-generated channels are deemed fraudulent. In particular, the service will receive 60,000 AI songs per day, a total of 13.4 million songs recognized by AI. In contrast, in June of last year, all songs created by AI made up 18% of the music recorded daily, exceeding 20,000 songs.
Deezer says its AI music recognition tool can recognize any AI-generated song from major brands like Suno and Udio. In addition to excluding AI-generated tracks from recommendations, Deezer’s tool allows them to participate in shows and remove them from the royalty pool, because the company wants to compensate musicians and songwriters accordingly.
The tool’s accuracy is 99.8%, a company spokesperson told TechCrunch.
Deezer CEO Alexis Lanternier says there has been “great interest” in the tool, and several companies have “already conducted successful tests.” One such company is Sacem, a French management company that represents more than 300,000 music producers and publishers, including David Guetta and DJ Snake.
The company did not provide pricing information or reveal additional companies that plan to use the tool. A spokesperson told us that the price varies depending on the type of contract.

There is growing concern about AI companies using copyrighted material to train their models, as well as techniques used to manipulate observational systems and commit fraud.
One example of music download fraud occurred in 2024, when a North Carolina musician was charged Department of Justice (DOJ) by creating AI-generated music and using bots to stream it billions of times, resulting in $10 million worth of revenue being stolen. In addition, AI groups are preferred Velvet Sundown they have earned millions of dollars.
Bandcamp they recently got tired of banning AI-generated music altogether, right Spotify has changed its policy to address the rise of AI music, clarify when AI is used to create music, reduce spam, and make it clear that unauthorized clones are banned from the platform.
In contrast, major record labels settled cases with Suno and Udio, seemingly embracing AI-generated music. last fall, Universal Music Group and Warner Music Group engaged these AI startups to license their music books, ensuring that artists and songwriters are compensated when their work is used to train AI models.
In recent years, Deezer has taken steps to address concerns about AI-generated music. In 2024, it became the first music streaming platform a symbol and international knowledge on AI educationjoining actresses Kate McKinnon, Kevin Bacon, Kit Harington, Rosie O’Donnell, and other well-known producers.
Hopefully, Deezer’s recent decision to sell its proprietary tool will serve as an example for other music streaming platforms to do the same to protect human artists and combat fraud.
