Trump’s top cybersecurity official has uploaded government documents to ChatGPT

The director general of the US Cyber ​​Security Agency CISA has uploaded the famous contract documents marked as “for government use” to ChatGPT, according to Politico.

The outlet, citing officials, said on Tuesday that the director general of CISA, Madhu Gottumukkala, appointed by Trump, introduced several security warnings designed to prevent the theft or unauthorized disclosure of government files from the federal network.

Gottumukkala says he was allowed to use ChatGPT in the past during his CISA tenure at a time when other employees were banned. Officials at the Department of Homeland Security, which owns CISA, wanted to know if there was any threat to national security as a result of the document.

Embedding anonymous but public documents to a large-scale language model is challenging, as it allows the model to learn from that information, and allows its content to be shared by others who use it.

A CISA spokesperson told Politico that Gottumukkala’s use of ChatGPT is “temporary and temporary.”

Before being appointed to CISA, Gottumukkala served as South Dakota’s chief information officer under Governor Kristi Noem.
