TikTok joins Snap to settle lawsuit over internet addiction

TikTok stability High court on Monday evening, which claims that social media companies deliberately make their products addictive, which harms users. Picture settled the case last week, but Meta and YouTube – the other defendants – are now on trial, where jury selection begins on Tuesday.

Centered around a 19-year-old plaintiff known by the initials KGM, the case is the first of many legal challenges against the platform. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and YouTube CEO Neal Mohan are expected to testify, which could be an example of how many of the cases will be handled.

By settling the lawsuit, TikTok and Snap aren’t admitting the allegations. Instead, they settled with the plaintiff out of court, although the terms of those agreements are not known.
