A landslide in Indonesia’s West Java province has killed at least seven people and left more than 80 missing, officials said.
Landslides occurred in the West Bandung area southeast of the capital Jakarta after several days of heavy rainfall.
Indonesia’s Disaster Mitigation Agency said in a statement that “landslide material buried residential areas, causing deaths and affecting local residents” and that more than thirty homes were destroyed.
Flood, landslide and extreme weather warnings have also been issued for the wider area.
The landslide hit the village of Pasirlangu at around 02:30 am (19:30 GMT) on Saturday.
Abdul Muhari, director of communications at the National Search Agency, said more than two dozen people had been safely evacuated from the affected areas.
Images shared by local news outlets showed homes buried under mud and debris.
