This is the second chapter of this section Super Cup What has been going on between the two Gulf countries since 2024, having already won the Challenge Cup in the second edition in 2025 in Abu Dhabi, and thanks to Al-Wakrah, on penalties 5-4 (always 1-1).

Al-Duhail faced an early challenge when striker Salah Zakaria fouled Kharbin outside the penalty area, which forced him to be sent off and replaced by Argentina’s Bautista Burque after midfielder Edmilson Junior (10) was sent off.
Al-Wahda opened the scoring after the Portuguese Gonçalo Moura (Goja) was thwarted by Sultan Al-Breik, so the referee awarded a penalty, which Kharbin scored well (29).
Al-Duhail, who was the best performer in the second half, thought he would have equalized with Algeria’s Adel Boulbena (90+3), but the referee disallowed the goal after reviewing the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) for a foul on Al-Wahda’s defenders before scoring.
The number of points between the two teams was the same after the dismissal of Al-Wahda player Abdullah Hamad (90 + 9).
Kharbin said, “We didn’t play at the level we did in the previous games, and because of the early dismissal in Al-Duhail it made us slow down, but the important thing is to win the title.”
He continued, “The competition is important, but for us it is more important,” referring to Al-Wahda who are in third place in the league, 6 points behind leaders Shabab Al-Ahly, and entering the final of the League Cup to face their rival, Al-Ain.
Emirati club Sharjah won the Super Cup by defeating Al-Gharafa on penalties 5-4 (regular 1-1) in Doha on Thursday. On Saturday, Al-Sadd will play Shabab Al-Ahly in the Super Shield, and on Sunday, Al-Jazira will play Al-Ahly in the Challenge Cup.
