A Portland, Ore., man faces hundreds of sex charges after authorities discovered a network of hidden cameras he allegedly set up.

The Portland Police Bureau’s Child Abuse Unit and Internet Crimes Against Children Unit arrested Gladden, 26, and he was charged with a total of 385 felonies.
The charges include 86 counts of using a child to engage in sexually explicit conduct, 93 counts of first-degree invasion of privacy, 86 counts of first-degree encouraging child sexual abuse, 112 counts of second-degree encouraging child sexual abuse and eight counts of computer crimes.

An investigation into Gladden was launched when authorities learned digital devices associated with the suspect contained images and videos capturing children and adults. All videos and photos captured unsuspecting victims in private spaces of their own homes, such as bedrooms and bathrooms.
Gladden reportedly used a camera hidden inside a cell phone power adapter and an external battery to record the video without the victim’s knowledge or consent.
As part of the ongoing investigation, six minor children and five adults were identified in the recordings. Authorities also discovered additional child sexual abuse material on Gladden’s personal cellphone, as well as evidence of receiving and distributing the material through various online platforms.
According to police, Gladden made the recordings at the homes of people he knew. Authorities do not believe there are other victims who have not yet been identified.
The case is still under investigation. Police ask anyone who believes they have been targeted by Gladden to contact crimestips@police.portlandoregon.gov and include “Child Abuse Team” in the subject title. The case reference number is 25-323624. Additionally, those who may have information that could assist the investigation are asked to contact authorities.

In light of Gladden’s arrest, police are also encouraging people to be aware that hidden cameras can be hidden in common household items. Authorities encourage people to be wary of unfamiliar or inappropriate objects in their homes and plugging in electronic devices that don’t normally require power.
If a hidden camera is discovered or suspected in a home, police encourage people not to touch the device. Instead, if possible, they should record it and remove any children in the residence away from the suspect camera before contacting law enforcement.
